Ajax camps & Clinics: this is how we train

training according to the Ajax philosophy

At Ajax Camps & Clinics, it’s all about development, daring and having fun. But what exactly does that mean? On this page, we’ll take you through how training works at Ajax Camps & Clinics, the vision behind it and why it’s more than just training.

The Ajax vision: technique, courage and game intelligence

Ajax is known worldwide for its training philosophy. We translate that philosophy into our Ajax Camps & Clinics. This means that we work on:

  • Technique: ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling and finishing
  • Game insight: understanding what you are doing, what choices you are making and why
  • Creativity: daring to play football and seeking solutions
  • Speed of action: thinking and acting at a rapid pace.
  • Working together: playing as a team

At Ajax Camps & Clinics, we believe that players develop best when they are challenged and have fun.

positive coaching and personal attention

Our certified Ajax Camps & Clinics coaches are trained and work according to the Ajax methodology. They coach in a positive, clear and motivating manner. Making mistakes is allowed; in fact, you learn from them.

What you can expect:

  • Clear explanations and demonstrations by the trainers
  • Many ball contacts per exercise
  • Small, high-intensity exercises
  • Individual tips and feedback

Each participant is grouped according to age and level, so that everyone can develop at their own pace.

Structure of a training day

A training day at Ajax Camps & Clinics is structured and intensive. We work with a fixed structure:

  • Warm-up with the ball: immediately active and engaged
  • Technical exercises: focus on basic skills and their extension
  • Position games and game types: learning to recognise situations
  • Competition formats: applying them in the game

This is how we ensure an optimal balance between learning and playing football.

Training at Ajax and throughout the Netherlands

Our approach is the same everywhere: whether you participate at Ajax itself or at an amateur club, you receive the same quality of training and vision. The content at all locations is based on the Ajax training programme and is continuously being developed.

Who is our training method suitable for?

De Ajax Camps & Clinics zijn er voor:

  • Boys and girls aged 6 to 16
  • Beginners who wish to improve their technique
  • Enthusiastic players seeking an extra challenge
  • Goalkeepers who wish to develop (further)

So anyone with a passion for football is welcome!

More than just training

Ajax Camps & Clinics is not just about football. It is about the experience, self-confidence and experiencing the Ajax mentality and playing style. Players learn to take initiative, take responsibility and enjoy improving their skills.

That’s how we train. That’s Ajax.
